Canteen - B'ights

We are proud to operate a canteen that provides healthy meals to children which are recommended by the Healthy Canteen Association of NSW and/or conform to current government regulations.  The canteen offers hot and cold lunch items plus healthy snacks, drinks and ice blocks.

The Canteen has a nut free policy. Peanut butter, Nutella and any other nut based products are banned.  Children with allergies are encouraged to use the canteen providing the supervisor is notified of any such conditions.

The canteen is operated by a parent committee which reports to the BHPS Parents & Citizens (P&C) Committee. The committee employs two canteen supervisors, Connie Parsons and Susie Fernie and they are assisted each day by a team of four volunteers.

Opening times

Open for recess and lunch on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week.

Menus

Menus are available from the canteen or the school office on the Western Campus. It is also displayed on the school website where you view or download a copy by clicking on the Menu heading under Canteen in the left hand column.

Ordering your child's lunch

On the lower half of a paper lunch bag (available at supermarkets in the plastic wrap section usually), using a black marker pen, clearly write your child’s name and class. Under this write their order with the appropriate cost next to each item. Add the total at the bottom and place the correct money (if possible) inside the bag; any change required will be sticky taped to the front of the bag and returned  with the lunch order. Unless your child is ordering only one item please provide two bags stapled securely together.  Any problems with lunch orders should be reported back to the Canteen where the helpful staff will sort them out.

Western Campus: Lunch orders on the western campus should be left at the canteen before school begins. At lunch time designated children from each class will collect the lunches and take them back to their classrooms for distribution.

On the Infants side (Eastern Campus): orders are collected before school by a parent volunteer who will be easily identified by the blue canteen box next to them. At lunch time, Infants lunches are delivered to their classroom.

Can I order morning tea?

Orders are not taken for morning tea.  Items available for morning tea may be purchased over the counter at recess.
